Principal Backend Developer

Intro to the role:

Fulcrum is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Principal Backend Developer to join a B Corp Health Insurer’s venture in Australia. As part of their mission to provide affordable healthcare and improve patient choice, they have launched a new digitalisation and venture building strategy. This is a chance to join a permanent high-performing team and be a part of scaling a multi-product business across health financing, treatment support, and compliance.

Your Role:

As the Backend Principal Developer, you will be responsible for:

• Building within the product team that has end-to-end ownership of the core platform developed in Node.js and TypeScript
• Working alongside product and design teams
• Maintaining the infrastructure using Terraform and Docker
• Using Kotlin and Springboot to build backend services

About You:

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Strong experience in Node.js and TypeScript
• Previous experience with Terraform and Docker
• Experience with Kotlin and Springboot
• Strong experience in building and scaling cloud-based, highly available, and reliable applications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively
• A strong desire to learn new technologies and tools
