Senior Designer (Manager)

Intro to the role:

Fulcrum seeks a talented Senior Product Designer with managerial experience to join our fintech team in Sydney CBD. As a Senior Designer, you will focus on UX, UI, and User Research, leading a small group of product designers to create end-to-end experiences. You’ll collaborate with developers, product managers, and data analysts to deliver innovative solutions that meet our users’ needs.

Your Role:

• Plan and prioritize new functionality, optimizations, and areas of focus in collaboration with business partners and squads.
• Conduct primary and secondary user research and testing to gain insights into user behaviors and preferences.
• Facilitate experience mapping and co-creation workshops to identify problems and opportunities.
• Translate concepts into appealing UI designs using Responsive Web Design principles.
• Conduct usability studies, card sorting, tree testing, and think-out-loud studies to test and validate designs.
• Measure and iterate on the outcomes of your work, prioritizing areas for improvement.
• Review implementation with developers and provide feedback before the final release.
• Coordinate new components, layouts, grids, flows, and interactions to grow our design system and component library.
• Support, mentor, and challenge team members to deliver their best work, setting clear goals and priorities.
• Function as a strategic partner with Product Managers to shape product roadmaps and guide your team’s design decisions.
• Establish relationships with cross-functional team members from Product, Marketing, Development, and Analysts to align on product strategy and goals.

About You:

• Proven experience as a Product Designer with strong skills in UX, UI, and User Research.
• Experience managing and mentoring a team of product designers.
• Proficiency in using design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of Responsive Web Design principles and accessibility standards.
• Ability to conduct user research and usability studies to inform design decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a positive attitude toward learning and growth.
